Hair is the highest-selling UGC category on Roblox — and the trickiest to upload. Here's the exact recipe for a hair accessory that clears moderation and doesn't clip through the face.
Attachment: HairAttachment, not HatAttachment
Hair uses HairAttachment. Uploading with HatAttachment gets your item flagged as mis-categorized during review.
Triangle budget for hair
Hair looks best around 5,000-8,000 triangles. Under 3,000 reads as "budget"; over 10,000 will fail moderation. Meshlox defaults to 6,000 for hair prompts.
Alpha and card hair
Roblox does not allow alpha transparency in the diffuse channel for UGC hair — no card hair with cut-outs. Use solid geometry with tapered strands instead. Meshlox generates volumetric hair by default for this reason.
